Child Impact Fund (CIF) is BQMF’s special programme for child sponsorship to cover tuition fees, feeding, health care, shelter, and other school dormitory requirements such as bedding, etc. CIF meets the critical needs of children for the attainment of sustainable development and thus helps them jump out of poverty.
Lack of efficient systems in family environments coupled with poor child-friendly social and legal responses to abuse results in a dire situation in a child’s development. The effects of deprivation in childhood and the impact of child poverty can transcend generations. Poverty is one of the root causes of violence and the exploitation, abuse and neglect of children, such as child labour, trafficking, sexual exploitation and child marriage (UNICEF 2019).
In addition, to child sponsorship, CIF supports sustainable solutions such as sponsoring construction, equipping and tooling of Early Childhood Development centers (ECD), primary schools, Primary schools, Secondary Schools and Tertiary vocational schools in hard-to-reach areas and among struggling communities around the globe and this is coupled with a robust livelihood intervention and a strong water access, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) preparedness.
